Happy New Year! Welcome to 2026 and another edition of the Forgotten 45 at 3:45! Over the holidays I had the chance to see the new movie “Marty Supreme” which stars Timothee Chalamet as a 1950’s ping pong player & hustler. One of the songs that popped up in the movie is today’s Forgotten 45, from the Korgis it’s “Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime”.
The British one-hit wonder group were looking looking for a ballad that would appear to an audience in the United States, they found it with “Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime” a song that went to #18 on the charts in America in 1980.
The song is likely to find a new audience with it’s appearance in “Marty Supreme” which even though the story was set in the 50s features 80’s classics like “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears and “Forever Young” by Alphaville.
