Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is from a band that formed in Chicago in 1978, Survivor. They were on the charts on November 18th, 1986 with their song “Is This Love”.
Survivor in their various forms recorded 8 studio albums and to this day is best known for their multi-week #1 hit “Eye of the Tiger” from the Rocky III soundtrack. But they hit the top 10 four more times in the 80’s with songs like “High On You”, “The Search Is Over”, and “Burning Heart”. “Is This Love” was their final top 10 hit, released in the Fall of ’86, the song peaked at #9 on the charts.
