For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we celebrate the birthday of Mike Post, the composer of classic TV themes with his highest charting hit “The Theme From Greatest American Hero”.
Mike is best known for creating some of the best classic television themes of all-time including The Rockford Files, Hill Street Blues, Magnum P.I., Doogie Howser M.D. and so many more! Rockford Files, Hill Street Blues, and Magnum’s themes all made the top 40 but his biggest chart hit was the #2 hit for the show “The Greatest American Hero” sung by Joey Scarbury. The song was kept from the top spot by “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross.
