Today is my birthday!  And it just so happens to be Linda Ronstadt’s birthday as well, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1980 for “How Do I Make You”.

Linda was born on July 15th, 1946 in Tucson, Arizona and she went on to have an award winning career picking up 11 Grammy’s, 3 American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards, and even an Emmy.  In her career she recorded 19 top 40 hits in the 70’s and 80’s.

Her 1980 hit “How Do I Make You” was influenced by The Knack’s “My Sharona”, the song was a #10 hit and she had some help from Nicolette Larson on backing vocals.   Critics liked that she “rocked out” a little on the song, and some compared her style on this tune to that of Debbie Harry from Blondie.

Happy 79th Birthday to my MUCH older pal Linda Ronstadt. take a peek at the video for “How Do I Make You” it’s today’s Forgotten 45!
