Happy 80th Birthday to Blondie’s Debbie Harry! In celebration, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is from the group, from 1979 “Dreaming”.
She co-founded Blondie with guitarist Chris Stein in New York in the ‘70s. The band hit it big with their third album, “Parallel Lines“, which featured hits like “Heart of Glass,” and “One Way or Another”. The band went on to sell over 40 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
“Dreaming” was the first single from their Fall of ’79 album “Eat To the Beat”, the song only went to #27 in the U.S. which the band thought was disappointing. The song features the drumming of Clem Burke who sadly passed away in April of this year.
