For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we celebrate the birthday of Carly Simon! The singer-songwriter is celebrating her 82nd trip around the sun so how about a hit from 1978 “You Belong to Me”.
Carly had quite the string of hits in the 70’s with 13 top 40 hits like “Anticipation”, “You’re So Vain”, and “Nobody Does It Better”. “You Belong to Me” was written by Carly and Michael McDonald and the song was originally recorded in 1977 by the Doobie Brothers, but it was her version that became the big hit reaching #6 on the charts.
