105.7 KOKZ is your home for classic American Top 40 shows every weekend! This Sunday morning at 8, Casey Kasem features the top songs from June 18th, 1983, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Rick Springfield with “Affair of the Heart”.
The song was the 4th of his 5 top 10 hits and the first single from his “Living in Oz” album. According to Wikipedia, Rick was in a public restroom when a random guy came up to him and gave his a cassette tape and said “you gotta hear this song, I wrote it. You’ll love it”. A couple of months later Rick was driving to work for General Hospital, popped in the tape and the rest is history! The song was a #9 hit in the summer of ’83.
