Can you believe it’s been 37 years since the debut of Tom Hanks movie “Big”? It hit theaters on June 3rd, 1988 so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to ’88 for Michael Jackson and “Dirty Diana”.
From his 1987 album “Bad” which has sold over 35 million copies worldwide, “Dirty Diana” was the 5th hit single from the album. Released in April of ’88 the song went on to become his 10th solo #1 hit. The song was a lot like his earlier hit “Beat It” with guitar on “Diana” played by Steve Stevens, who is best known for playing for Billy Idol.
And the movie “Big” where Tom Hanks gets his wish to be grown-up was a big hit, grossing over 150 million dollars at the box office and helping to propel his status as one of the most popular movie stars of all-time.
