The Hawks have done it again! Iowa advanced to the National Championship game by beating UConn 71-69 in an absolute grinder of a game. Cedar Rapids Washington star Hannah Stuelke lead Iowa with 23 points and Caitlin Clark added 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Iowa (34-4) will face undefeated South Carolina (37-0) for the title Sunday afternoon at 2pm on KCRG TV-9. Win or lose, this team will be remembered for a long time. Go Hawks!
The Iowa State men lost a tough one to Illinois in the Sweet 16 as the Illini advanced to the Elite 8 with a 72-69 win over the Cyclones. Iowa State ends their season with a 29-9 record.
The Iowa State women were eliminated by Stanford in an absolute classic, 87-81 to finish their season (21-13).
The Iowa men lost at Utah in the NIT 91-82 to conclude their season at (19-15). And the UNI women lost to St. Louis 68-64 in the WNIT to end their season.
