As we endure below zero temperatures on this Monday, it’s time for the Forgotten 45 at 3:45.  Today’s is the anniversary of the debut of “Happy Days” on this date in 1974, so in celebration, let’s hear the theme by Pratt & McClain.

The Cunningham family made their debut on January 15th, 1974 on ABC and ran for 11 seasons starring Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Anson Williams, and more.  Set in Milwaukee and produced by Gerry Marshall, the show was one of the most popular shows of the 70’s. So popular that it helped spinoff shows like Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, and Joanie Loves Chachi.

Pratt & McClain recorded their version of the Happy Days theme in late 1975 and the song was released in early 1976 and went on to become a #5 hit on the pop charts.

Happy Anniversary Happy Days!  Enjoy Pratt & McClain with today’s Forgotten 45.
