As we sit and “enjoy” the full effect of winter weather in Iowa, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 can be heard again tomorrow night during Nina Blackwood’s Absolutely 80’s show, “Life in a Northern Town” by Dream Academy.
The British band launched a worldwide promotional based on the chart success of “Life in a Northern Town” and appeared on the television shows like Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, American Bandstand, and Top of the Pops. The song was a world-wide hit, reaching #7 on the charts here and while their follow-up song “The Love Parade” did chart at #36, I think we can safely call them a one-hit wonder.
