On Saturday night, Kiss closed out the final performance of their “The End of the Road” tour at Madison Square Garden, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to this week in 1978 for Ace Frehley’s “New York Groove”!
It’s only right that the band that was formed in NYC back in 1973 wrapped up their concert tour in the city. The original lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley shocked and rocked the world for 50 years! But as dedicated fans probably knew, they aren’t really calling it quits. At the encore last night, KISS revealed digital avatars of themselves and will now live forever in digital infamy!
“New York Groove” appears on Ace’s solo album and the song reached #13 on the charts in early 1979.
Congrats to KISS and enjoy Ace Frehley’s “New York Groove” today’s Forgotten 45.
