For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to this week in 1990 for a power ballad by Poison with “Something to Believe In”.
The song appears on the band’s 3rd album “Flesh & Blood” and became the band’s fifth and final top 10 chart hit. Dedicated to James Kimo Maano a security guard and Bret Michaels best friend who had gotten hooked on drugs & alcohol and Bret’s cousin Bob who was a Vietnam vet.
Following the success of their only #1 hit, the ballad “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn”, “Something To Believe In” worked as well, reaching #4 on the charts in 1990.
