Today is National Saxophone Day and on this date in 1948, Glenn Frey was born in Detroit, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we salute both in one song, from Glenn Frey it’s “The One You Love”.
The song was the first solo hit from his first solo album “No Fun Aloud” released in May of 1982. The album was certified Gold with sales of over 500,000 copies but it received mixed reviews from critics. Of course Glenn’s biggest solo hits were soundtrack songs that both his #2 “The Heat Is On” from Beverly Hills Cop and “You Belong to the City” from the Miami Vice. “The One You Love” was a #15 hit in ’82.
