Happy Halloween! Dawn dressed up as Barista Barbie and I’m not Ken! For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1988 for DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince with “A Nightmare on My Street”.
Long before he was known as a Hollywood star and for slapping Chris Rock, Will Smith and his buddy Jeff Townes hit the charts with tunes like “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and “Summertime”. “Nightmare” was a #15 hit as Will tells the story of an encounter with Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street movie series. Unfortunately New Line Cinema didn’t find the humor in this and sued DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. The suit was eventually settled out of court.
Just a little Halloween nostalgia from Will & Jeff, check out the video to “A Nightmare on My Street” today’s Forgotten 45.
