It’s Jackson Browne’s 75th birthday today, so in celebration, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is one of his big hits, “Boulevard”!

Born on this date in 1948, Jackson Browne was born in Germany where his father was stationed for his job for the Stars & Stripes newspaper.  At the age of 3, the family moved to Southern California and had his first success as a songwriter at the age of 16.  He wrote several tunes for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and was the co-writer of a little song called “Take it Easy” for the Eagles.

His first big hit was in 1972 with “Doctor My Eyes”, his biggest chart hit was in 1982 with “Somebody’s Baby” from the movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”.  “Boulevard” was a top 20 hit in 1980 and you’ll find the song on his “Hold Out” album.
