On this fine October 2nd, not only is it Freddie Jackson’s 67th birthday, it’s also our 30th wedding anniversary, married on this date in 1993! As a celebration of Mr. Jackson’s birthday and our three decades, this song is dedicated to my bride, “You Are My Lady”.
Born in the Harlem section of New York, he was trained as a gospel singer and moved west in th late 70’s and sang backup for Melba Moore. He landed a recording contract with Capitol Records and recorded his debut album “Rock Me Tonight” in 1985 which was a #18 top 40 hit, and “You Are My Lady” was his biggest hit reaching #12.
October 2nd, 1993 was a special day in our life, Miss Dawn & I were married at her home church in Wisconsin and are celebrating our 30th Anniversary today. With love & appreciation for 30 years, here’s Freddie Jackson with today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 with “You Are My Lady”.
