This Saturday morning at 9 105.7 KOKZ brings you classic American Top 40 the 70’s.  This weekend Casey features the top songs from September 23rd, 1978, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Chris Rea with “Fool (If You Think It’s Over)”.

Chris is an English singer who has sold over 40 million records worldwide, but only delivered one hit in the States. “Fool” was written by Rea with the thought that someone like Al Green would sing it.  He was looking for a Memphis blues sound, instead it took more of a California ‘vibe’ and it become his biggest hit, though he admitted the sound “wasn’t me”.

He earned a Grammy nomination in ’78 for Best New Artist and the song was a #1 Adult Contemporary hit and reached #12 on the pop charts.

It’s Chris Rea with “Fool (If You Think It’s Over)” today’s Forgotten 45.
