This Sunday morning at 8 Casey Kasem counts down the top songs from September 17th, 1983! It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from supergroup Asia with “Don’t Cry”.
The English super group was formed in 1981 with a lineup that consisted of John Wetton from King Crimson, Steve Howe from Yes, Geoff Downes from Yes & The Buggles, and Carl Palmer from Emerson, Lake, & Palmer. Their debut album released in 1982 was their best-selling album and went to number one in several countries.
“Don’t Cry” was on their 2nd album “Alpha” released in the Summer of ’83. The album was certified platinum and delivered two top 40 hits. “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”, and “Don’t Cry” which was a #1 rock hit, and a top 10 pop smash.
Enjoy all the video glory of the 80’s from Asia with “Don’t Cry” today’s Forgotten 45!
