This Saturday morning at 9 105.7 KOKZ brings you American Top 40 the 70’s.  This weekend Casey features the top songs from September 20th, 1975, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Barry Manilow with “Could It Be Magic”.

Fanilow’s this one is for you! The legendary career of Barry Manilow started as a writer of commercial jingles, iconic 0nes like “Like A Good Neighbor” for State Farm and “I Am Stuck on Band Aid, cause Band Aid is stuck on me!”.  His breakthrough on the charts came in 1974 with “Mandy”, a song originally called “Brandy”, but Looking Glass already had that one, the rest is history.

Between ’74 and 1983, Barry Manilow recorded 25 Top 40 Hits including “Could It Be Magic” which was a #6 song in ’75. All told, he’s sold over 85 million records and continues to play sold out shows around the world.

Check out a live 1975 performance of “Could It Be Magic” today’s Forgotten 45.
