It’s going to be a beautiful weekend in Eastern Iowa! The ridiculous heat index values have finally lowered and we’re getting you ready for the weekend with our Absolutely 80’s Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from The Hooters with “And We Danced”.
The band out of Philadelphia found their biggest success in the mid 80’s with songs like “All You Zombies”, “Day by Day” and of course “And We Danced”. In July of ’85 in their hometown of Philly, they were the opening band for Live Aid against the wishes of Bob Geldof who put the concert together, in fact he was quoted as saying “Who the &$%! are the Hooters?”.
Well it gave the band some international exposure and the song just about cracked the top 20, peaking at #21. It’s a great summer tune, check out the video to “And We Danced” by the Hooters today’s Forgotten 45!
