It’s another day of stifling heat & humidity, so we’re thinking cool thoughts here at 105.7 KOKZ! For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1981 for Paul Davis with “Cool Night”.
The singer-songwriter from Mississippi mixed soul, pop, and country to deliver 7 Top 40 Hits in the 70’s and 80’s. “Cool Night” was a #11 pop hit in ’81 and the soft rock sounds pushed the song to #2 on the Adult Contemporary charts.
Paul even collaborated with country artists like Tanya Tucker & Marie Osmond in the mid to late 80’s and wrote Dan Seals & Marie Osmond’s “Meet Me in Montana”.
He survived a shooting in Nashville in 1986 but sadly passed away from a heart attack in April of 2008, one day after celebrating his 60th birthday.
Here’s a live video of Paul with “Cool Night” today’s Forgotten 45!
