I was “today years old” when I found out the song was originally a hit for Hot Chocolate in England reaching #7 in the U.K. The song’s lyrics dealing with an interracial marriage possibly scared radio stations away from airplay in the US. Well six months after Stories recorded the song and it rocketed to #1 on the charts and earned a gold disk for selling over 1,000,000 copies. The song was later used in the TV show “Louis” staring Louis C.K.
