Back at it for a Monday and today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45. Well maybe not forgotten, but a song you don’t hear as much any more. Today we go back to the Summer of ’83 for Men At Work with “It’s a Mistake”.
The Australian band burst on to the music scene with their “Business As Usual” album and topped the charts with their first two hits, “Down Under” and “Who Can It Be Now”. In fact they were the first Australian group to have a simultaneous #1 single and album at the same time. They won the Grammy for Best New Artists in 1983 and released their second album “Cargo” in May of that year. “Overkill” was a top 5 hit and “It’s a Mistake” reached #6 and was the final top ten hit for the group.
