Every Sunday morning at 8 105.7 KOKZ takes you back to the 80’s with classic American Top 40 with Casey Kasem.  This Sunday he’ll play the top songs from July 4th, 1987, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from George Michael with “I Want Your Sex”.

The song was released in May of ’87 and was the third hit from the Beverly Hills II Soundtrack album along with “Cross My Broken Heart” by the Jets and “Shakedown” by Bob Seger.  The song was also the first from his debut solo album “Faith” and “Sex” went to #2 in the US and was a big hit worldwide.

Although it was was one of his biggest hits, George never performed it past the Faith tour saying that he distanced himself from the song because he thought it sounded too much like Prince (he was a big fan).

The video was scandalous and you can check it out here! “I Want Your Sex” by George Michael is today’s Forgotten 45!
