You might have noticed the smoky haze in the air across the state today. In fact the Iowa DNR has issued an Air Quality Alert for Iowa through Wednesday. The DNR recommends that people reduce long or intense activities, and take more breaks during outdoor activities until air quality conditions improve. This is the result of on-going Canadian wildfires, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we’ll play a fire tune, from the Boss with “I’m on Fire”.
The song was the 4th of a record tying 7 top ten hits from Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” album. “I’m on Fire” went on hit #6 on the charts following the success of “Dancing in the Dark”, “Cover Me”, and the title track. The album went on to sell an incredible 17 million copies in the US and 30 million world-wide and is considered one of the best selling albums of all-time.
