This morning on the Waters Wake-Up Call, Mike talked about the musical influence of your parents growing up.  For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, I bring you a group that was seared into my brain forever as a kid, the Bee Gees with “Nights on Broadway”.

I’ve mentioned before that my first concert as a kid was going to see The Carpenters at the Masonic Temple in Davenport when I think I was 8 years old with my mom.  I remember her listening to Simon & Garfunkel, older Glen Campbell, Barry Manilow, and oh by God, the Bee Gees.  She LOVES the Bee Gees!

In 1975 their “Main Course” album was worn out in our household.  I can still remember Jive Talkin’ and Fanny Be Tender With My Love being on that album without looking.  And of course with the success of Saturday Night Fever, the Bee Gees were about to blow up globally bigger than ever.

So thanks Lana for burning the Brothers Gibb into our heads!  Check out their performance of “Nights on Broadway” on the Mike Douglas Show in 1975, it’s today’s Forgotten 45!
