This Saturday morning at 9, 105.7 KOKZ brings you American Top 40 the 70’s as Casey Kasem features the top songs from April 26th, 1975, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from David Bowie with “Young Americans”.

It’s the title track to his 9th album, “Young Americans” was released in March of ’75.  The album marked a bit of a departure from his “glam rock” and leaned more toward his interest in soul and R & B.  The first sessions for the album were recorded in Philadelphia and featured a then unknown backup singer named Luther Vandross.

Despite mixed reviews from critics, the album delivered his first ever #1 song “Fame”, and “Young Americans” was  top 10 hit.  Check out the live performance of the song on the Dick Cavett Show!  David Bowie with today’s Forgotten 45.
