Big Country are a Scottish band that was formed in 1981 and incorporated Scottish sounds like bagpipes, fiddles, and other folk instruments. The success of “In a Big Country”, a #17 hit in the states, to performing live at the Grammy Awards and even Saturday Night Live.
The song was an MTV staple in late 1983, and today was the birthdate of then lead singer Stuart Adamson who sadly passed away in December of 2001 at the age of 43.
