The Fabulous Thunderbirds – Wrap It Up

Formed in Austin, TX in 1974, The Fabulous Thunderbirds didn’t see any real success until 1986, even though the band had already recorded and released four albums, all critically claimed.

In 1986, thanks in part to two films, The Fab T-birds started to enjoy popular success in the mainstream.

“Tuff Enuff’ was the band’s fifth studio album and the title track was featured in the Michael Keaton movie. Gung Ho, and in the Burt Lancaster and Michael Douglas film, Tough Guys. It peaked at #10 on the Hot 100 and id their highest charting single. The follow-up single, “Wrap It Up” was also from the ‘Tuff Enuff’ album, it hit the Hot 100 but stalled at #50.

The band has had many member changes over the years. Singer/co-founder Kim Wilson is still with the band, but Jimmy Vaughn (Stevie’s older brother) went on to go solo and focus more on blues and R&B for his career.
