Dave Edmunds – Slipping Away
Englishman Dave Edmunds didn’t spend much time on the U.S. charts, but did make it to the Top 40 twice!
The first was in 1970 with “I Hear You Knocking”. It wasn’t until 1983 did he hit that chart again, with the help of ELO’s Jeff Lynne.
Lynn prooduced Edmunds album, ‘Information’ which included the single, “Slipping Away” which peaked JUST inside the Top 40 at #39, bit it did fare better on the Mainstream Rock chart, making it to #7. No one can say Jeff Lynne didn’t have his own sound. This could be an ELO tune, featuring Dave Edmunds.
