Here’s another suggestion from a listener! Gary Webster from Cedar Rapids!
The Knack – Good Girls Don’t

After The Knack hit the big-time with “My Sharona” in 1979, it was time to release another single. It came from the same debut album and was a song that had been around for quite a while before the album recorded.
“Good Girls Don’t”, written by singer/songwriter Doug Fieger (frontman) a few years before the recording of the band’s debut album, ‘Get The Knack’. It was used to shop around to record companies to get a recording deal. By the time to record, producer Mike Chapman suggested recording this song but Doug had grown tired of it as it was that saong that was never picked up by any of the record companies. Chapman made a deal with Fieger and the band, to do just one take of it and if was clean, they’d add it to the finished product, Chapman was right for doing so…
The Knack recording one, ONLY one take of the song and it became the band’s second Top 30 hit, peaking at #11!!
