Dan Baird – I Love You Period

After Dan Baird left the Georgia Satellites, he started a solo career.
His debut album, ‘Love Songs For The Hearing Impaired’ came out in 1992. Produced by Brendon O’Brien, known for working with Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan, Stone Temple Pilots and many other top acts, and executive producer and co-founder of Def American Records, Rick Rubin, only two singles came from the album – “The One I Am” and “I Love You Period”.
“I Love You Period” is a story-rocker of a boy who had troubles in school and english wasn’t his best class. He has a crush on his teacher and writes her a note, professing his adoration. The teacher took that as a teaching moment and used the boys crush on her to help instill proper grammar and punctuation.
“I Love You Period” hit the charts in October of 1992 and peaked at #26 on the Hot 100!
