I’ve mentioned many times, on-air, that I love to fish. I’ve not always been very successful, but I’m always willing to learn more so I can best enjoy the time out doing it.

I’ve upgraded some fishing equipment, by adding 3 baitcaster reels (took a while to get used to throwing those as I birdnested the hell out of each of them), upgraded the poles with better action, and have learned about braid versus fluorocarbon line.

Baits are something else I’ve found that’s important (imagine that, right?) I’ve always been a worm or plastic stinkbait worm kind of guy as catching catfish is fairly easy. I’ve never had much luck using the different plastics, jug, spinners, jerkbaits, etc. Well, I found out WHY I haven’t been successful with them…. I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING!

I’ve since gotten addicted to YouTube fishing videos. Sure some are just people out fishing and using their camera-phone while talking about everything BUT fishing… But there are some REAL anglers out there with expertise and experience that are worth watching AND you CAN learn a lot from them!

My favorite YouTube fisher is Noah, who’s a pretty young guy with a lot of pro bass tournaments under his belt. He’s kind of a “bass-whisperer”. An expert on catching bass, for sure, but also other fish. He knows what they are looking for in each kind of weather, sun or clouds, humid or dry, high or low water tables and colors and shapes of bait.

He has his own channel – “Kickin’ Their Bass TV” and each episode is done with professional equipment and friends who are helping him shoot the content. He has tip videos, strictly teaching tips and suggestions, as well as POV (point of view) fishing from his boat (incredible) and off the bank, in all types of water. He’s made content from rivers, ponds, lakes, even deep sea fishing. He’s worked very hard in his young years to get where he is now. He has well over 500,000 subscribers and is sponsored by the biggest and best known fishing and tackle makers known to anglers. He and his friends, as well as his loving family, are really bringing some great content for any and all types of fishing enthusiasts.

I’m mentioning Noah and his channel because he has helped me understand fish and fishing technique to have a better time while fishing. It’s always better and more fun when you’re catching something, right? Click the link below and I suggest subscribing if you want to see some great fishing content as well as learn more about how to get the most out of fishing.

Here’s what happened this past weekend as I went out and used some of what I learned from Noah and Kickin’ Their Bass TV. And I didn’t even take pics of anything under half a pound!! There were about 5 or 6 of those!
