48 years ago today NBC debuted the show “Diff’rent Strokes” starring Gary Coleman (What you talkin’ about Willis!) and since I’m still struggling with the time change, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts in November of 1978 from Al Stewart it’s “Time Passages”.
The show ran 8 seasons from 1978 to 1986 telling the story of Arnold (Gary Coleman) and Willis (Todd Bridges) Jackson who were taken in by wealthy New Yorker Phillip Drummond and his daughter Kimberley played by Dana Plato. Like many shows with child stars, there was plenty of drama behind the scenes and sadly of the three kids, only Todd Bridges is still with us, Gary Coleman passed away in 2010 at the age of 42. And Dana Plato died in 1999 at only 35 years old.
In 1978 Al Stewart released “Time Passages” his 8th album and the follow up to “Year of the Cat”. the title track became his 2nd and final top 10 song, reaching #7 on the charts. The Scottish singer is 81 years old today.
A 1978 flashback from Al Stewart, it’s “Time Passages” today’s Forgotten 45.
