For the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to the charts on October 19th, 1985 for the Thompson Twins with “Lay Your Hands On Me”.
The English band hit the U.S. top 40 7 times in the 80’s with songs like “Hold Me Now”, “Doctor Doctor” and “King For a Day”. In ’85 they released “Lay Your Hands on Me” a song that their 2nd top 10 hit reaching #6 on the Hot 100. They were a trio until 1986 and performed as a duo for 7 years after that. Lead singer Tom Bailey did some sold tours after that.
