On October 2nd, 1993 in a little white church in west-central Wisconsin, I married my best friend Dawn. In celebration of our 33rd anniversary today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is from Al Green with “Let’s Stay Together”.
The Reverend Al Green who is now 80 years old is an 11 time Grammy Award winner including a Lifetime Achievement Award. In the 70’s he hit the top 40 13 different times but his biggest hit was his classic “Lets Stay Together” a song that spent 9 weeks at the top of the R&B chart and reached #1 on the pop chart as well back in 1971.
And on a beautiful fall day 33 years ago, my favorite curly haired girl and I said “I do”. Through good and bad, happy and sad, we’ve stayed together. Happy Anniversary Dawn! Check out Al Green with “Lets Stay Together” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
