The British band debuted in 1978 as a six person band fronted by lead singer Paul Roberts. The group is a true one-wonder as “Drivers Seat” became a hit around the world and becoming a #15 chart hit in America. The song was later used in a 1991 Pioneer car stereo ad in Europe which and that pushed the song to #1 in the Netherlands.
And why the name? Paul Roberts had suggested “The Tears” and his manager suggested adding “Sniff” became Roberts suffered from hay fever! It’s a groovy Forgotten 45 from ’79 from Sniff ‘n’ The Tears, it’s “Drivers Seat”.
