For the Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to the charts on August 28th, 1976 for a band that will be at Meskwaki Veterans Convention Center on Saturday, October 10th. From War it’s “Summer”.
The song was the last of 11 Top 40 hits War had in the 70’s including a long list of classics like “The Cisco Kid”, “Spill The Wine”, “Low Rider”, and “Why Can’t We Be Friends”. “Summer” borrowed the line “Have it your way” from the old Burger King commercials and took the song to #7 on the charts.
