On this “Back To School” TuNesDay, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 reminds you there’s life after high school, from Daryl Hall & John Oates it’s “Adult Education”.
The song was one of two news songs for Hall & Oates album Rock ‘N’ Soul Part 1 released in the Fall of 1983. “Say It Isn’t So” went to #2 on the charts and “Adult Education” also went top 10 reaching #8 on the charts in ’84. Like many 80’s songs there was of course a video, one that Hall & Oates actually hate! Daryl Hall said the director Tim Pope was a “new hot shot” and didn’t have a clue what to do with the song. John Oates on Behind The Music called the video “Survivor on acid!”
