Welcome to the Monday Forgotten 45 at 3:45! On August 17th, 1983, Prince released this tune, from his album 1999 it’s “Delirious”.
In the Fall of ’82 he released his album 1999 which became his breakthrough album selling 4 million copies and featuring the hits “1999”, “Little Red Corvette”, and “Delirious”. The last two songs were his first two top 10 hits reaching #6 and #8 on the Hot 100. In fact the videos from Prince were among the first from a black artist to be played in heavy rotation by MTV.
Of course this all led to Purple Rain in 1984 and the rest is purple history! Celebrating it’s 43rd anniversary today, check out Prince live at the 1st Avenue Club performing “Delirious” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
