Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts on August 11th of 1984. From Peter Wolf it’s “Lights Out”.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Peter went to college in Boston where one of his first roommates was director David Lynch. He was a member of the J. Geils Band from 1967 to 1983, riding the popularity of the early MTV days with their classic songs “Centerfold”, “Freeze Frame”, and “Love Stinks”. In 1983 he left the group and went solo and his first album “Lights Out” was released in the Summer of ’84. The title track went to #12 on the charts and he hit the top 40 two more times in the 80’s.
