Today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was on the charts July 27th, 1991. It was the first ever hit for Seal with “Crazy”!
Born in London to a Nigerian mother and Brazilian father, Seal was raised by a foster family and actually has a degree in architecture and was working other jobs before starting his music career in the 80’s with a British funk band before meeting a producer that would lead to his debut album. Released in May of ’91 “Seal” featured “Crazy” a song that went #1 in several countries and #7 in the U.S. becoming his biggest hit until “Kiss From a Rose” reached #1 a few years later.
Besides his music, he was likely best known for his marriage to supermodel Heidi Klum for 7 years and the scarring on his face which was caused by a form of Lupus. And in 2025 you might remember the creepy Mountain Dew Super Bowl ad which featured Seal as a Seal!
