105.7 KOKZ is your home for classic American Top 40 shows every weekend.  This Sunday morning at 8 Casey Kasem plays the top songs from June 25th, 1983, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Styx with “Don’t Let It End”.

The band out of Chicago was on a hot streak delivering a streak of 4 multi-platinum albums between 1977 and 1981 with classics like “The Grand Illusion”, “Pieces of Eight”, “Cornerstone”, and “Paradise Theatre”.   But by 1983 the creative differences between Dennis DeYoung and the rest of the band we’re getting too hard to overcome.  Their album “Kilroy Was Here” was the final Styx album to feature the the classic lineup.

The album did go platinum on the strength of “Mr. Roboto” and “Don’t Let It End”, a song that went to #6 in the Summer of 1983.    The current version of the band still tours and will be doing a couple of shows in Florida next month.
