105.7 KOKZ is your home for classic American Top 40 shows every weekend. This Saturday morning at 9 join Casey Kasem for the top songs from June 5th, 1976. While the song isn’t “forgotten”, family members from Seals & Crofts will open for Little River Band this Friday night. From AT40 1976 it’s Seals & Crofts with “Get Closer”.
Jim Seals and Dash Crofts hit the top 40 8 different times in the 70’s with classics like “Summer Breeze” and “Diamond Girl”. Both of those songs hit #6 on the charts, and so did “Get Closer” featuring Carolyn Willis. In fact the song ended up being the 16th most popular song of 1976.
Jim Seals passed away in 2022, and earlier this year Dash Crofts died from complications after heart surgery but their music lives on. Brady Seals (cousin of Jim) and Lua Crofts (daughter of Dash) will be at McGrath Amphitheatre this Friday night opening for Little River Band. Tickets for the show are still available.
In the meantime, enjoy a great summer Forgotten 45 from Seals & Crofts on 105.7 KOKZ!
