For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we wish Kylie Minogue a very Happy Birthday as she turns 58 years old today! From 1988 it’s her debut single, a remake of “The Loco-motion”.
Kylie is the biggest selling Australian female artist of all-time, she got her start in the business playing the role of Charlene Mitchell in the Aussie soap opera “Neighbours”. She released her version of “Locomotion” in her home country in ’87 and it went to #1 which earned her a new record deal and her biggest hit in the United States as the song went to #3 on the charts. In fact “The Loco-motion” has made the top 3 on the charts three different times, reaching #1 with Little Eva in ’62 and Grand Funk Railroad in ’74.
Netflix released Kylie, a three part documentary on her life last week as it tells her life story, includes live concert footage, and discusses her battles with breast cancer.
