Stephanie Lynn Nicks a.k.a. Stevie is celebrating birthday number 78 today so for our Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1982 for “After the Glitter Fades”.
Named of the greatest songwriters and singers of all-time, Stevie Nicks has had a legendary career with her work as a member of Fleetwood Mac (“Rhiannon”, “Dreams”, “Landslide”). She released her first solo album in the summer of 1981, the critically acclaimed “Bella Donna” which featured 4 top 40 hits and sold over 4 million copies. “After the Glitter Fades” was the 4th and final hit from the album reaching #32 on the charts.
Stevie said she wrote the song with Dolly Parton in mind. I found a video of a young Stevie Nicks in the recording studio singing “After the Glitter Fades”, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
