Laura had her biggest success in the early 80’s with three top ten hits, the biggest being her 1982 smash “Gloria” which hit #2 along with the follow-up “Solitaire”. In ’84 she released “Self Control” from her album of the same name and it became her final top ten hit reaching #4 on the charts.
The singer from New York sadly passed away in 2004 at the age of 52. Her high school Byrom Hills awards a Laura Branigan Memorial Scholarship to a senior for excellence in the performing arts.
