This morning on the Waters Wake-Up Call, Mike was featuring songs with sound effects in them.  With that in mind, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 has a few, from the legendary Dolly Parton it’s “9 to 5”.

The song features a typewriter sound, one of the few hits to include that sound effect.  Not to mention the tapping of fingernails, the sound of a bell, and even a stapler.  It’s like they were working or something!

The song was a monster hit in 1980 as Dolly became only the 2nd women to hit #1 on the Country and the Pop charts with the same song.  The first being Jeannie C. Riley with “Harper Valley P.T.A.” in 1968.

Dolly recently cancelled her shows in Vegas as she’s been dealing with kidney stones and other health issues.  Best wishes to Miss Dolly!  Get out your White Out and listen to “9 to 5” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
