Over the weekend we lost Alex Ligertwood who was the lead singer on several Santana songs at the age of 79. So today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was voice by Alex, from Santana it’s “Hold On”.
Alex served as Santana’s lead vocalist 5 different times between 1979 and 1994 singing on songs like “Winning” and “All I Ever Wanted”. “Hold On” was a song first recorded by Canadian Ian Thomas in 1981, his version went to #28 there, and Santana’s version was released in the Summer of 1982 and went to #15 on the charts.
